Tampere Market Vendors Association Since 1948

About Us

Tampere Market Vendors Association was founded in 1948 to support market vendors and promote Tampere’s market culture. The association’s mission is to preserve and promote vibrant market traditions, ensure favorable conditions for vendors, and bring together entrepreneurs and customers.

The association plays an active role in organizing market trade and events, while also serving as an advocate for vendors. We are involved in the development of Tampere’s marketplaces and work closely with the city and various stakeholders. Currently, the association has over 60 members who help keep Tampere’s market culture vibrant and diverse.

Markets and Fairs – At the Heart of Local Life and Togetherness

Market trading is much more than just commerce – it’s a meeting place where conversations come alive, community grows, and traditions are passed on. Tampere’s markets offer high-quality products such as locally sourced food, vegetables, berries, baked goods, handicrafts, and seasonal specialties.

We organize and coordinate various events that attract visitors to the market and help preserve traditional market culture. Events are an important part of the association’s activities, offering market vendors a great opportunity to showcase their products and grow their customer base.

Interested in Selling at the Market?

Are you interested in becoming a market vendor? Tampere’s markets offer a variety of selling spots for both regular vendors and seasonal sellers. Whether you’re a food producer, artisan, or other type of market seller, we’ll help you find a suitable spot and guide you through the practical arrangements.

Our Mission and Goals

Preserving and Developing Market Culture

Market trade is part of Finland’s cultural heritage, and preserving it is important to us. Our association strives to ensure that markets remain welcoming, vibrant, and attractive places for both entrepreneurs and customers.

Supporting and Advocating for Market Vendors

We serve as the voice of market vendors in Tampere and work in cooperation with the city to maintain and improve the conditions for market trading. We promote the interests of vendors by negotiating market stall locations, pricing, and practical arrangements, and we offer support with any questions related to market operations.

Organizing Diverse Markets and Events

We organize several markets each year, including the popular Monday and May Day markets, which bring together local producers, artisans, and visitors—adding even more vibrancy to market life.

Collaboration and Networking

We work actively in collaboration with the City of Tampere, market supervision, other associations, and individual vendors. Our goal is to develop market culture together and offer customers a diverse and high-quality market experience.
